Eventually he finds himself entangled in an extortion case for a client that is being blackmailed with porn. But that is not the only case that has the attention of this hard-boiled private investigator.
While trying to solve this blackmail case, an unsolved cypher he receives in the mail sets off an attempted murder plot against his life. Or is it just an accident, perhaps the resulting death of someone else was the real intended victim.
As the cases evolve, the private detective struggles between his personal life, his womanizing, and the others he is trying to help. All while sorting through his past life and its painful memories.
The cast of characters mixes old lovers with new and immature women.
Intertwining the towns prominent citizen, James Theodore esq. with people like crazy doctor Bob, the ingenue Jeri, immature Kacey, and the sweet Roxanne of Rocky’s Java Emporium.
